Born 1861 in North Bloomfield, N.Y. Moved to Colo. in 1865. Graduated from West Point Military Academy in 1884. Resigned his commission in 1890. Received a degree in electrical engineering form Colorado School of Mines (1895.) Returned to military duty during the Spanish-American War. Served as Colonel, First Regiment, Colorado Infantry in the Philippines. Promoted to Brigadier General. Recommended for Brevet Major General for gallant and meritorious services. Discharged in 1900. Supervised construction of Denver, Colo. tramway and managed the Rocky Mountain Division of Edison General Electric. Founded the National Society of the Army of the Philippines which later merged with American Veterans of Foreign Service to form Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Served as president of the Colorado Society, Sons of the American Revolution and the Colorado Scientific Society. Died 1930.
