Hudson served as a representative from the Second District, Kalamazoo County, 1905-1906 and 1907-1908, and as a member of Congress, 1923-1930. He was born on July 23, 1868 in Ohio and came to Michigan at the age of 17. At various times, Hudson was a Baptist minister, ran a dry goods business, a general store, farm, and held several local political offices.
