Abbey, Richard S. (Richard Sargent), 1916-2001
Richard Sargent Abbey (b. Apr. 3, 1916, New York City-d. Dec. 2, 2001, Alexandria, Va.) was first commander of the 24th NORAD/CONAD region with headquarters at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, upon its inception in November 1969.
