Between 250,000 to 750,000 Latinos and Latinas served in the United States military during World War II. The U.S. Latino & Latina WWII Oral History Project began as a project by Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez of the School of Journalism and Center for Mexican American Studies at UT in 1999 to collect primary source material and interviews about the Latino contribution to the American war effort during WWII.
