John H. Sears was a United States (U.S.) Army soldier who served in World War II (WWII). He joined the 87th Chemical Mortar Battalion around 1943 and served with the unit until 1945. The 87th was activated in May 1943 and supported several different divisions from D-Day (June 6, 1944) invasion through the occupation of Germany.
