Variant namesThe Dutch painter Siebe Johannes Ten Cate was born in Friesland, Netherlands. He studied at the academy in Antwerp, then made study trips in Europe, North America, and Egypt. He worked in Paris, and participated in various exhibitions there, and also in Vienna, Munich, and Venice. He painted mostly in gouache, watercolor, and pastel.
