Travelli, Joseph S., 1809-1888
Variant namesJoseph Travelli was born in 1809 in Philadelphia. He became a schoolteacher and a minister in western Pennsylvania. He is credited with being the 'Father of Kindergarten' in the Pittsburgh area. He died in 1888.
