Pinkerton family.
James Pinkerton and his wife Mary were residents of Westmoreland County, Pa., settling there in 1783. Their sons, Capt. William Pinkerton and John Pinkerton, were farmers in Westmoreland County, but another son, David, migrated to Knox County, Ohio in the 1830s.
