Fawcett, Don W. (Don Wayne), 1917-2009
Variant namesDon Wayne Fawcett (b. 1917), AB, 1938, Harvard College; MD, 1942, Harvard Medical School, was Senior Associate Dean for Pre-clinical Sciences at Harvard Medical School from 1975 to 1977. Fawcett began his career at Harvard Medical School in 1946 as a research fellow in Anatomy and progressed to Assistant Professor of Anatomy by 1955, when he was named Chairman of the Department of Anatomy at Cornell Medical Scool. He subsequently returned to Harvard Medical School a few years later, to become Chairman of the Department of Anatomy, the Hersey Professor of Anatomy, the James Stillman Professor of Anatomy, and Curator of the Warren Museum. His research focused on cell and reproductive biology, morphology, and adipose tissue.
