American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education
The American Academy of Physical Education (AAPE) was organized in 1923 "to advance knowledge in the field of physical education, to uplift its standards, and uphold its honor"; in January 1993 it broadened its scope and purpose to become the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education (AAKPE), dedicated to educational concerns and scientific advancements in the field.
