James Harrison received a promissory note for $3,000 from G.C. Swallow, drawn on the Merchants' National Bank of St. Louis, Missouri on, April 10, 1868. Several James Harrisons were found in the 1870 and 1880 Montana Territorial Census, but none can be validated as being this James Harrison.
