Thomas Hartmann is Professor Emeritus of English and Religion at Brooklyn College. He taught Renaissance Literature and Religious Studies at Brooklyn College and other CUNY colleges for the past 46 years. Professor Hartmann received his B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy from St. Thomas College and his Ph.D in English from NYU. He has been actively involved in inter-religious dialogues for over 25 years and has given talks and written articles on religion, Milton's writings, curriculum reform and faculty development. He is on the editorial boards of New City Press and Living City Magazine and has edited many books. Professor Hartmann and his wife Mary have lived in the Midwood section of Brooklyn for almost 40 years and have 10 children and 15 grandchildren.
