Edward Fish Henry (1801- ) was born in Heath, Mass., one of fourteen children of David (1772- ) and Prudence (1776- ) Henry. He went to Gill in 1830 as a schoolmaster in the district called Riverside and continued to teach school for ten years. In 1831, he married Abigail Combs (1808-1833) of Gill. His second wife was Eliza A. Henry ( - ). He served as secretary of the Whig Party in Gill in 1840, a delegate to its convention in Worcester, June 17, 1840, and a member of the Town Committee of Whigs. He was a selectman and town clerk in Gill in 1837-1838 and served as justice of the peace in Franklin County, Mass.
