Art Collins started his career in the music business in 1975 working in Atlantic Records' promotion department. He joined Rolling Stones Records in 1977 and later became president of the company. In 1982, Collins left Rolling Stone Records and turned his attention to artist management, founding Art Collins Management in New York City. His clients included Joe Jackson, Marianne Faithful, Marshall Crenshaw, and Iggy Pop, whom Collins managed for over twenty years. Collins died on July 27, 2005 of cardiac arrhythmia at the age of 52.
