Liston, Melba.
Melba Liston (1926-1999) was a jazz composer, arranger, trombonist, and educator. She played in many bands, including those of Count Basie, Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie, Randy Weston, and Quincy Jones. Liston wrote arrangements for many jazz composers, including Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, and Mary Lou Williams.
