Root, John.
John Root attended MSU in 1877-1878 as a freshman and sophomore. In 1879 he was a "special" student. This meant that he was of an age and had met certain requirements to be eligible to focus on a special field in order to complete his studies early. He married and was from Plymouth (Mich.).
