Family of Concord, Mass. Traced to Thomas Minot(t), whose son George (1594-1671; born at Saffron Walden, Essex, England) was an early settler of Dorchester, Mass. Sons of George: John; James; Stephen; Samuel. Sons of John: James; John; Stephen; Samuel. James (eldest son of John) came to Concord about 1680, married Rebecca Wheeler. Lemuel Shattuck lists descendants of Thomas Minot in his 1835 A History of the Town of Concord (p. 379-380). Tilly Merrick (1755-1836), storekeeper of Concord, was connected to the Minots through his mother (Mary Minot Merrick) and.
