Edward P. Lilly (1910-1994) was a Professor of History at the Catholic University of America from 1940 to 1944, and a Special Assistant to the director in the Office of War Information from 1944 to 1945. He was a historical advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1946 to 1952, and a staff member of the National Security Council from 1952 to 1965.
