Abbot Low Mills (1858-1927) was born in Brooklyn, NY and educated at Harvard. He came to Oregon in 1882 and moved to Colfax, Washington, in 1885, where he was a member of the banking firm of Perkins & Mills. In 1890 he moved to Portland and became vice president of the Security Savings and Trust Co., and from 1903 was president of First National Bank of Portland. His son, Abbot Low Mills, Jr., became vice-president of the same bank, and of U.S. National Bank, Portland.
