Moe, Roger D., 1944-

Roger Moe was born and raised in Crookston, Minnesota. He received an education degree from Mayville State College in North Dakota, in 1966, and taught high school mathematics for several years. In 1970, Moe was first elected to the Minnesota State Senate. A member of the DFL Party, he represents District 2, comprising parts of four northwestern counties. During his legislative career, he has chaired several Senate committees, including Rules and Administration, and Elections and Ethics. He has been the principal author of several pieces of agricultural legislation, including the Rural Development Act, the Farmer-Lender Mediation Act, and the Environmental Trust Fund. Currently (1990), Moe is the Senate Majority Leader.
