Missionary doctor; born in China on October 29, 1906 to missionary parents; married Winifred Thompson, 1932; joined Foreign Mission Board of the United Presbyterian Church, 1933; surgeon at George Memorial Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; worked with Red Cross for Haile Selassie during Italo-Ethiopian war; killed in 1935 while trying to defuse an Italian bomb. Winifred Thompson Hockman was born on September 24, 1906; graduated from Muskingum College, 1929.
