Fisher, John, 1909-1996
Variant namesJohn Fisher was the youngest son of Andrew Fisher, the Australian Labor Prime Minister. In 1942 he was sent to Moscow to work as a broadcaster for the Australian Broadcasting Commission. He later became press attache to the newly-formed Australian Legation in Moscow. His wife, Elizabeth, accompanied him during his time in Moscow.
