Variant namesMorgan Hebard, Jr. (1921-2000) of Philadelphia was a naturalist and photographer who served as president of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association. His parents were renowned entomologist Morgan Hebard (1887-1946) and Margaret Champlin Perry Claxton, granddaughter of the artist John La Farge (1835-1910).
Hebard attended Yale University before serving four years in the Army as a Japanese language specialist and civil affairs officer for the Office of Strategic Services. Afterwards, he worked on Wall Street and then for the International Boiler Works Company in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania before becoming president of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association.

He donated his extensive collection of bird transparencies to the Academy of Natural Sciences.
Hebard's first marriage ended in divorce; his second wife, Jean Ballard Hebard, was an artist.
