Colcock, Daniel DeSaussure, b. 1846.
Confederate naval officer. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Daniel D. Colcock was the son of Richard Woodward Colcock (1806-1856) and the nephew of William Ferguson Colcock (1804-1889). In 1864, with the rank of passed midshipman, Daniel D. Colcock was ordered to Charleston harbor and assigned to the flagship Charleston. After the Civil War Colcock moved to New Orleans, Louisiana and became a businessman there.
