Orton, Joseph, 1833-
Joseph Orton was born in 1833 in Amington, Warwickshire, England, and was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1855. He emigrated to the United States, arriving in New York in 1856. He went to Utah in 1858 and settled in Saint George in 1861. In the 1880s he worked as a missionary and genealogical researcher in England.
