Rotch, Edith Eliot, 1874-1969.
Edith Eliot Rotch graduated magna cum laude from Radcliffe College, class of 1900. After leaving Radcliffe she became a champion skater and tennis player, winning the national women's doubles in 1909 and 1910. During World War I she began a long career in radio, serving as an instructor and examiner of radio operators. She was one of the first licensed women amateur radio operators in the country. After the war she went to work for the Postal Telegraph Company, where she remained for nearly two decades. During World War II she worked as a radio monitor for the Bureau of Standards.
