Judge Lewis Render "Pete" Morgan (1913-2001), served in the United States District Court, 1961-1968, and the United States Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, 1968-1996. Morgan also served two terms as a representative from Troup County (LaGrange) in the Georgia General Assembly (1937-1939) and was campaign manager and executive secretary for the U.S. Representative Albert Sidney Camp.

Lewis Render "Pete" Morgan was born July 14, 1913 in LaGrange, Georgia and died November 15, 2001 in LaGrange, Georgia. He was a Judge, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia, 1961-1968 (chief judge, 1965-1968); U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, 1968-1981; U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, 1981-1996.
Robert D. Brussack, interviewer, was a clerk for Judge Morgan from 1976 to 1977, and is a member of the University of Georgia Law School faculty.
