O'Cain, Raymond K.

College professor and linguist. O'Cain was born in South Carolina in 1943 and graduated from the College of Charleston in 1965. He received a masters degree and a Ph. D. from the University of Chicago, and was a professor of English at the University of South Carolina. O'Cain was the assistant editor of the "Linguistic Atlas of the Middle and South Atlantic States" (Raven I. McDavid was the editor-in-chief).
