Cooper, George, clerk of sessions.
The Salem (Black River) Presbyterian Church was located in Sumter County, South Carolina on the Black River. The church began around 1739, but there are no authentic records until 1759. The Clerk of Sessions for the period covered by this collection was George Cooper, who was also a tailor.
