Mansel, R. E.
Variant namesRobert Mansel was an English theatrical manager and author. He managed the Theatre Royal in York and Hull, which included theatres in Leeds, Wakefield, Doncaster, and Pontrefact. He was one of the more enterprising managers, arranging for significant alterations at York by a public subscription. He also wrote several books about the theatre, notably A defence of the drama.
