Auburn Tyler Patch of Benson, Vermont was born around 1844 and died in 1915 in Kansas. He enlisted in Company B, Vermont 2nd Infantry Regiment on September 19, 1861 and mustered out on February 3, 1863. He spent the time from February to November 1863 in Pennsylvania. He visited Vermont before returning to service in December 1863. Patch was wounded on May 5, 1864, and spent time in Washington, D.C. recovering until he rejoined his regiment in late May. Patch mustered out of service in Washington on July 15, 1865.
