Hildreth, Ellison, 1884-1962.
Ellison Hildreth was born on July 17, 1884 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He was educated at Amherst College (B.A., 1906), Colgate Rochester Seminary and Union Theological Seminary. He served as a Baptist home missionary from 1910 until 1913 when he married Lottie Lane, born June 18, 1882 in Walpole, Massachusetts. She received a B.A. degree in 1905 from Mount Holyoke College and taught school in New York and New Jersey. From 1913-1927, they served as American Baptist missionaries in South China. During a furlough from 1918-1919, Ellison Hildreth served with the YMCA in Siberia. From 1928-1949, he served as pastor of Federated Churches in Vermont and Connecticut. Ellison Hildreth died in 1962 and his wife in 1977.

1913 -1927 :American Baptist missionaries in South China. After two years of language study in Kakchieh, they were assigned to Chaochaofu. On return from furlough in 1920, ESH was in charge of the country work around Chaochaofu and in 1923 a few churches north of Swatow were added to his field. -
1918 -1919 :ESH served with YMCA in Siberia. -
1927:
ESH attended seminary. Family unable to return to China because of poor health. -
1928 -1936 :ESH pastor of Federated Church in Cabot, Vermont. -
1936 -1940 :ESH pastor of Federated Church in South Royalston, Vermont. -
1940 -1949 :ESH pastor of Federated Church of Christ, Brooklyn, Connecticut. -
1962 Dec 17:
ESH died. -
1977 Nov 24:
LLH died.
