Sullivan, Thomas, 1844-1932.
Thomas Sullivan was born in Franklin County, Illinois, near Parrish on January 4, 1844. On July 25, 1861, at the age of 17, he enlisted in Company F, 40th Illinois Infantry, at Knob Prairie near Akin, Illinois. He served three years, was wounded in the battle of Shiloh, and was discharged on August 9, 1864, at the rank of sergeant. He taught for 19 years in rural schools in Franklin, Hamilton, and Saline Counties. He served one year as a member of the General Assembly in Springfield, Illinois. He died at the age of 88, May 16, 1932.
