J. Raymond Dunlap was a district traffic manager and district sales manager for United Airlines in Denver, Colorado, who retired in 1969. During his service with United Airlines he collected some memorabilia, including items from the early Varney Air Lines, founded by Walter Varney after World War I. He preserved the written aviation memories of Leon Cuddeback, a pilot with Varney Air Lines and later United Airlines.
