Henry Knox Stratford, Cook Co., Illinois, eclectic physician, was born in either 1821 or 1822. He received an M.D. from the Penn Medical University and Philadelphia University of Medicine and Surgery in 1865. During the Civil War, Stratford was a surgeon at Camp Douglas, Ill. He practiced in Austin and Chicago, Ill., and died on 28 July 1914 at 92. Stratford was a president of the National Eclectic Medical Association, Chicago Eclectic Medical and Surgical Society, and the Eclectic Medical and Surgical Society of Illinois.
