William Evans Hall (b. Oct. 22, 1907, McAlester, Ok.-d. May 30, 1984), U.S. Air Force officer, was commissioned in the field artillery from West Point in 1929 and graduated from Advanced Flying School in 1934. During World War II, he was secretary and, later, deputy chief of the Air Staff. He was assigned to the 15th Air Force in the Mediterranean Theater as chief of the American mission to Bulgaria and, later, deputy commander of the 15th Air Force in Italy. After the War, General Hall had assignments in Turkey and Berlin, followed by appointment as assistant chief of staff for Reserve forces at Air Force headquarters and, in 1957, became commander of the nationwide Continental Air Command. He retired from Air Force service in October 1961.
