This document is a supplement to the Carpenter Genealogy by Daniel Hoaglang Carpenter showing the ancestry of one family of Carpenters of Northeastern Pennsylvania. It begins with William Carpenter (d.1685), son of Richard Carpenter of Amesbury, England. William and his wife Elizabeth Arnold were among the first to settle at Providence, RI. Among the many descendants is included information on William Carpenter (1773-1857) who married Mary Congdon (1773-1814) and moved to Wallsville, PA. Their children lived in northeast PA and included: Stephen Carpenter (1794-1882) who married Susannah Peterson and lived in Benton, PA; Harriet Carpenter (1796-1847) who married William Phillips and lived in Abington, PA; Thomas Carpenter (1798-1849) who married Lydia Beatey, and then Lucina Harrington; Mary Carpenter (1800-1816), who died in Archbald, PA; Catherine Carpenter (1802-1871) who married Phillip Hierlihy and lived in Abington, PA; William Carpenter (1805-1865) who married Sarah Howell and moved to Indiana; Rolla Carpenter (1808-1890) who married Laura Wescott and lived in Benton, PA; Charles C. Carpenter (1811-1891) who married Cynthia Green and lived in Wallsville and Scranton, PA; and Alonzo Carpenter (1813-1815).
