The McLauchlin Family emigrated from the west of Scotland to Canada in the 19th century. Archibald McLauchlin and his wife Elizabeth (McKellar) moved from the province of Alberta to Wyoming in 1877 where they settled on the Davis Ranch. He died in 1906 and she died in 1897. One of their granddaughters, Elizabeth McLaughlin (1886-1965), grew up in Horse Creek, Wyoming and in Spearfish, South Dakota. She then came back to Wyoming and settled in Wheatland in 1906. She married Howard Archer Robinson in 1911. The couple had two children, Dorothy (born in 1912) and Frank Delos (born ca. 1914).
Howard Archer Robinson (1883-1957) was the son of Roswell and Lizzie Robinson. Roswell Delos Robinson (1849-1911) who settled in Wheatland, Wyoming in 1885, married Harriet Rogers in 1869. After she died, he married Lizzie Archer in 1881. Roswell and his son Howard were partners in the Emerald Mining Company of Wheatland. Later, Roswell worked as a carpenter for the Wheatland Development Company, and in 1888 he moved to Uva, Wyoming, where he ran a hotel until 1895 and a general store until about 1903. Howard Archer Robinson also was an agent for the International Harvester Company and held investments in Bard's Ranch near Wheatland.
