The College of Professional Studies at the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire was introduced in 1996. Overseeing the School of Nursing, the School of Education, and the School of Health and Human Services, the College of Professional Studies was to cut administrative costs for the university and better serve students in the merging fields of education, health, and social services. Ronald N. Satz (1996-2000), Carol L. Klun (2000-2001), and Mark W. Clark (2001-2005) served as Deans of the College of Professional Studies. In 2006, the university eliminated the College of Professional Studies as an administrative unit.
