Dr. Armstrong was Associate Professor of Chemistry at The University of Texas at Arlington from 1968 to 1981. The papers were collected by him as chairman of The University Computer Committee, which was charged with making recommendations for the establishment and development of the University Computer Center. The papers also include material from his service as chairman of the North Texas University of Texas Inter-Institutional Committee on Computers. The regional committee was comprised of representatives from UTA, UT Dallas, and Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. The papers reflect their efforts in establishing The University of Texas, North Texas Regional Computer Center.
