J.M.B. Tucker, a native of Tennessee, was a judge in Natchitoches, La. In 1848 he married Caledonia Cornelia Marrs, a native of Shelbyville, Tenn., who was raised by relatives in Canton, Miss., following the death of her parents. Their children were Josephine Ashton Tucker and Mary Lee Tucker, who died in infancy; Callie Marrs Tucker; Lucie Tucker; Lillie Maude Tucker; Beverly Tucker; John M. Tucker; Florence Tucker, who married Ernest Hertzog and moved to St. Louis, Mo.; and James B. Tucker.
