Mustered in service Oct. 17, 1862; served as Corporal in the Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, 53rd, Company D, in the Dept. of the Gulf, 19th Army Corps. Died of typhoid at Port Hudson, La., and buried there on July 13, 1863.
