Gladding was the son of James M. Gladding (d. at age 74 on Jan. 27, 1894). Frank served as bookkeeper for Detroit's Controllers, 1892-1894 [maybe until 1908 or 1909?]. He had a daughter, Lucy, who married Harry Dekker of N.Y. (N.Y.) on April 10, 1899. Prior to being the bookkeeper, Frank had worked in several Detroit general clothing stores, including E.S. Pierce & Co., up to 1882, C.R. Mabley & Co., 1884-1885, and J.L. Hudson, 1887-1888. Ingersoll (1833-1899) was a lawyer, orator, writer, and politician who served in the Civil War. Blades died in 1906 at age 85. He served as Controller in Detroit, 1896-1898. (Information from the collection.).
