The Australian Association of Scientific Workers was formed in 1939, with Divisions of the Association in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia. Two members of the Committee elected in each Division represented their Divisions on the Federal Council, which was located in each State in turn. After World War 2, the Divisions gradually ceased activities and the final dissolution of the Association was completed on 31 July 1949.
