The Rev. James W. Mayer served as Coordinator for Partners in Mission (PIM) from its inception in 1974 until his death in 1984. Prior to his service with PIM, he was the Secretary for South Asia and Oceania, Board for Missions of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) until his termination in 1974. At PIM he was succeeded by the Rev. Paul Strege.
