Minnesota Boom Company (Winona, Minn.).

The company was formed in 1889 to construct booms and dams on the Mississippi River between Winona and the mouth of the Chippewa River, and to handle logs and timber at its boom sites. Its officers were William H. Laird (president), A. B. Youmans (vice president), William Hayes (secretary), and A. F. Hodgins (treasurer). In 1894 its accounts were transferred to the Mississippi River Logging Company, which owned most of its stock. This firm was a Weyerhaeuser affiliate.
