Gerald Breckenridge served as a newspaper reporter for many years. In 1916 he originated the "Inquiring Reporter" series of interviews for the New York Telegram, where he later became city editor. Breckenridge authored the Radio Boys series of books in addition to two novels, The Besieged and Brief Kingdom. During the early 1930s, Breckenridge served as a publicist for R.K.O. Studios. In 1936, he married author Lella Warren. They divorced in 1940.
