Henry Rozier Casey (1815-1883) was a medical doctor in Columbia County, Georgia and the son of Dr. John A. Casey of Augusta, Georgia. Henry studied medicine at the Medical College of South Carolina, Charleston, and at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he graduated in 1840. He was a delegate from Georgia to the National Democratic Convention in Charleston, South Carolina in 1860. During the Civil War he was president of the Board of Medical Examiners of Georgia until he was appointed Surgeon General of the state in 1864. He served in the Georgia Senate from 1866 to 1867 and from 1878 to 1879.
