Mintz, William Decatur, b. 1837.
William Decatur ("Dee") Mintz, born May 17, 1837, was a native of Rutherford County, N.C. In the fall of 1860, Mintz traveled to Arkansas, where he enlisted in the Confederate service on May 1, 1861. He first served as third corporal and then as a first lieutenant in Company C of the 5th Arkansas Regiment.
