Joshua Lawrence (1778-1843), of Tarboro, N.C., was an elder in the Primitive Baptist church.

Lawrence was a Primitive Baptist pastor. His Declaration of the Reformed Baptist Churches in the State of North Carolina, dated Aug. 29, 1826, mentions the difference in belief regarding baptism, Bible and Tract Societies, and theological schools between the Reformed Baptist and the Missionary Baptists.
